NFL Team Preview #2
Hello All! Good to see you again after a long hiatus.
As you know Jordan posted his prediction for the Miami dolphins, I will start with the redskins as I will be doing the NFC.
Team Offense: 31st
Team Defense: 31st
Strength of Schedule (difficult): 27th
2010 record 6-10
Alright! On to the NFC and we begin with the Washington Redskins, and let me tell you the house of congress is not the only thing in Washington with problems. I believe the skins will be in full contention for the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. This should be no surprise to the fans of the Redskins, who are used to losing, as they've been doing it consistently for the last 5 years. I do like the mentality that Shanahan brings, he is a winner, and he is not afraid to make controversial changes, as seen with the cutting of 100 million dollar man, Albert Hanesworth. This year, the redskins are looking to run a offense lead by John Beck. I cannot think of reason why the redskins did not even to attempt to draft a replacement, or sign a veteran quarterback. John Beck will be a horrendous "experiment", and putting it very lightly, I would be more competent to run the Redskins offense then John Beck. I do think that Roy Helu, the rookie out of Nebraska will be a wonderful boost to a weak redskins run game, but the offense will still suffer this year.
The redskins defense is alright, with a strong linebacker corps of Orakpo, Fletcher, and Mcintosh, but a average secondary, and a sub par defensive line. That defense cannot carry that team, However I see the redskins losing a few games by a touchdown or less, but for the most part, the defense will suffer do to a horrendous offensive play.
Surprise of the season: Beck throws less then 30 INTS (and Helu has 9 offensive touchdowns)
Biggest Disappointment: John Beck
Offensive MVP: Torian if he can stay healthy, Helu if not
Defensive MVP: Orakpo, a young stud with a ability to get to the quarterback.
Record prediction: 2-14
Jordan Record prediction: 3-13
